Extracellular fluids have relatively high concentrations of sodium (Na├î), chloride (Cl├ì), and bicarbonate (HCO├ô├ì) ions.  Intracellular fluid has relatively high concentrations of potassium (K├î), magnesium (Mg├î├é), and phosphate (PO├ö├ì├â) ions.  Note: Charged ions can also be indicated by reversing the superscript notation (e.g., Mg├é├î).
